Crown CRO and Medical Writer Ada MacKeith part of University of Helsinki HITP group mentoring programme

In 2019 the University of Helsinki launched the HelsinkiUNI International Talent Programme (HITP), a group mentoring programme that connects international students with local companies and organisations. Crown CRO’s Medical Writer and University of Helsinki alumna Ada MacKeith took part as a mentor for students on the TRANSMED programme.

Through the framework of mentoring, the programme enables unique cooperation and knowledge sharing between companies/organisations and international students. Over the course of the 6 month programme, participating organisations and their group of international students meet 3-5 times to discuss Finnish working life and the students’ experiences in Finland.

The University of Helsinki currently has almost 2 000 international degree students, with that number expected to rise every year. Whilst the university is attracting the brightest young international minds to Finland, international students face challenges after graduation when trying to enter the Finnish job market. One of the many reasons for this is that international students often lack professional networks that can help give them an edge in finding a job.
